A green home pays attention to energy efficiency, water conservation, the use of sustainable and or recycled products as well as measuring indoor air quality.

Interested in an Energy Star Home? Click on the picture to find out more. Starting in January of 2011 every home we build, that follows design requirements, will receive an Energy Star Certification through our in house HERS Rater.

Performance Testing During Construction

Blower door testing is performed after construction as part of the Energy Star Verification. A blower door test is used to determine the air tightness of a building. Air leakage results in 40% of a buildings heat loss. In our climate it is crucial to determine and enforce the building envelope from the beginning of the project. This equipment gives Westbank Construction an on-sight, technological form of "third party verification." Just one more step towards achieving an energy efficient building.
